RGB Pixels are digitally-controllable lights you can set to anycolor, or animate. Each RGB LED and controller chip is molded intoa ''dot'' of silicone. The dots are waterproof and rugged. Thereare four flanges molded in so that you can ''push'' them into a12mm drill hole in any material up to 1.5mm/0.06" thick. They''retypically used to make outdoor signs. Compared to our other 20mmLED dots, these are diffused 8mm LEDs so they are not as bright butthey color mix a little nicer. 

 

Thepixels are connected by a 4-conductor cable. 5V, ground, data andclock.

 Datais shifted down from one pixel to the next so that you can easilycut the strand or attach more onto the end. 

Each dot is digitally controlled,with an internal 8-bit PWM LED driver (24-bit color for 16 milliondifferent shades). The pixels must be clocked by amicrocontroller

 

 

 

The pixels use 8mm diffused RGB LEDs, with a 120 degree beam width.The total max brightness of all LEDs is about 1600mcd but with thelight more evenly distributed & mixed than a clear LED. (Pleasenote: mcd ratings of LEDs are notoriously inflated by most LEDsellers, so be extra-skeptical when reviewing LEDratings!) 

Sold by the strand, each strand has 50 pixels in series! Eachstrand has two JST SM 4-pin connectors so you can connect multiplestrands in a row

 

If you want to connect to the input of a strand (to wire it to power and amicrocontroller) please get a receptacle connector. If you want to connect to theoutput get aplug cable.

Note: 

 

There are nolabels on the wires. You can look at the example code or hook it upas follows: clock - blue, data - green, red - DC5V,  yellow -GND. There is a black arrow on the underside of the LEDs whichindicates the direction of the strand.
